Haus Schulenburg
The Belgian artist and architect Henry van de Velde built the villa in 1913/14 for the textile manufacturer Paul Schulenburg – house, interiors and garden all by one hand. Van de Velde is regarded as a pioneer of the Bauhaus.
In 1946 the family was expropriated, and the house later became a medical college. Since 1997 it has been lovingly restored. Today it is a museum with Europe's largest collection of van de Velde's book designs. In the garden stands the "Crouching Girl" by Richard Engelmann.
